Say Hi

Hi Hudu Community!

My name is Hector Rosales and I am an Account Executive with Hudu. Super excited to e-meet everyone here! 😄

I currently live in Houston, Texas and have been in TX for pretty much my entire life, but I was born in Los Angeles, California.

I am a huge outdoors person and enjoy going on hikes at local parks, trails and hills. I also love lakes and beaches. In addition, I have a small dog named Ethan. He is my companion and goes with me everywhere. I had him since he was a puppy and now is 4 years old!

I've been in the IT space for 6 years and started my career at Liongard. I also, had an almost 4 year tenure at Ninja One. I've learned first-hand how important it is to establish trust, credibility and develop an understanding of how IT environments work.

I'm super excited to join the Hudu team and be a helpful resource for anyone who wants to learn more about Hudu and documentation! 😃

Beginning trial and testing integraton with Ninja

Cheerfully made a mess so far, as i somehow managed to do the integration and had all come in under one company, instead of nine locations. Likely will back out and start over, but i like what i see so far

Hello!

Greetings. My name is Ken and I will be joining the support team for Hudu. I have worked in the IT field for 16+ years for both enterprise and small business/MSPs, with an emphasis on end user support. I moved from Nevada to Colorado about three years ago. Spent majority of my IT career working for gold mines in northern Nevada. Looking forward to collaborating with everyone.

Hello Hudu Community!

Hi Everyone!

I'm Stevey, the new Talent Acquisition & People Operations Lead at Hudu. It's great to e-meet you all! 👋

I've been in the SaaS software space for over 4 years, and excited to continue the journey here at Hudu. One of the many things that drew me to Hudu was our product as I consider myself a pretty organized person, and I love anything that makes my day more efficient. Another thing that had me excited about Hudu was the culture internally and externally with you all; it's great to be a part of an organization that has such great communities.

Documentation is super important in my work, from interview processes, internal policies, guides, future planning, checklists, and so much more—having it all stored in one place can really help me in my role to create structure. In return, this can help those I am working with feel supported and hopefully set up for success.

I'm still new to the company and learning a lot, but I'm excited to use Hudu within our People function. I'm also excited to read more from you all, your stories and feedback. Let's continue to grow this community. 😁

A little bit about me:

  • I'm a coffee enthusiast and love to make it at home

  • I was named after Stevie Nicks (Although, my spelling is different to pay memory to my uncle who I share a birthday with, whose name ended in a "y")

  • Love to play video games (PC and Nintendo), read, and work on many crafts

  • Love to be outdoors and go camping every summer

  • Love shopping for items to decorate and upgrade my desk space

  • I have four dogs, a cat, and a 25-gallon tank of freshwater fish

I look forward to reading more intro's and be part of this growing community! 🎉

Getting started with Hudu

Hey everyone!

I’m one of the co-founders of an Italian software company, with our main base in Milan, while I personally work out of Venice, somewhere between strategy calls, roadmaps, and the occasional spritz! We build custom management software for complex enterprise and industrial environments, with a strong focus on Oil & Gas, where process, reliability, and information governance really matter.

I’ve only recently started using Hudu, but with a pretty clear vision: not as just another documentation tool, but as a central knowledge and control layer for assets, platforms, and operations, both internal and for the clients whose systems we run and maintain long term.

I come from a technical background, but today my role is more strategic and organizational. My current focus is getting the asset structure and attributes right from day one. I strongly believe that the real value of tools like Hudu isn’t decided after a couple of weeks, but years later, based on the quality of those early structural decisions.

I joined the community to exchange ideas around approaches, mental models, and best practices: how to think about assets, how to avoid documentation debt, and how to turn documentation from a necessary evil into a real operational and decision-making asset.

Looking forward to learning from others here, sharing experiences, and building smarter systems together!

👋 Hey everyone, I’m Nikko Pabion and joining in from Fort Lauderdale, Florida!

I’m part of the team at WheelHouse IT, where I lead our automation, documentation, and integration efforts across hundreds of Microsoft 365 tenants and other MSP tools. I’ve been using Hudu since June 2021, and it’s become a core part of how we standardize processes, centralize knowledge, and scale operations across clients.

Over the past few years, I’ve been pushing Hudu further—building API-driven automations, integrating it with tools like Datto BCDR, Azure, NinjaOne, and Acronis, and experimenting with ways to make documentation not just a static system of record, but a live, automated part of our workflows. I’m also building out some Hudu-specific tooling (MCP servers, n8n automations, etc.) to make it easier to sync data, enforce standards, and surface backup + security visibility directly inside Hudu.

I joined this community to both contribute and learn—whether that’s sharing repeatable processes, collaborating on deep integrations, or swapping ideas on how to get the most value from Hudu at MSP scale. If you’re working on similar things—automation, API usage, centralized backup visibility, cross-tenant workflows—I’d love to connect.

Looking forward to building with everyone here.

New to Hudu

I’d like to pitch some changes I’ve already had frustrations with:

No next/ previous buttons when in a custom asset. Makes manually adding a hundred links really annoying. Constantly losing my place or I need to open 100 tabs.

No integrated incrementally increasing field for a stock counting system

I would like to add inventory numbers that increase each time I add an item to a company, I need to track all of this on a separate excel now - 100 excel sheets is what this app is meant to be replacing! Look at apps like Sortly and their Sortly IDs for what I mean.

I work in an in house IT company, can I just have an option to add my own company to the top for easy navigation?

New to Hudu! From Australia!

Hello everyone! Currently working in an MSP, where myself and another colleague are the only IT techs. Previously all of our documentation has been spread out over sharepoint and our passwords were stored on KeePass locally + Shared via email.

Have just spun up a Hudu free trial for 14 days and so far, looking so good. Hopefully, we are able to adopt Hudu.

Hello from Paris

Philippe here, using Hudu 3 years now but just discovered this community

Greetings from the UK! 🏴 | MSP-ing, Markdown, and Mild Chaos

Hey Hudu community! 👋

I’m Michael, joining you from the charming chaos of the UK. I work at Inventas, a managed services provider where every day brings a new adventure in tech, documentation, and occasionally deciphering what someone meant by “it just stopped working.”

We’ve recently adopted Hudu across our internal workflows, and I’m here to connect, swap stories, and secretly judge everyone’s KB formatting choices 😄

A few quick facts:

  • I’m the kind of person who adds headings and bullet points in casual notes 📝

  • I believe documentation is an art form… preferably dark-themed and well-tagged

  • I have a lot of thoughts about folder structures. Too many, probably.

Looking forward to learning from you all — and if anyone else lives inside their admin panel, we’ll get along just fine!

Hello from Louisiana

I’m Cameron, Hudu’s first Customer Success Manager!

I’m based in the very lively New Orleans, Louisiana area, and I’m excited to be part of such an amazing team and community through remote work.

My passion for technology started early--I got my first PC when I was around 8 years old! This led me to become the “family IT person” (complete with T-shirts to prove it! ). Whether it’s fixing computers, phones, Wi-Fi, or smart devices, I love tackling tech challenges.

I have a pretty well-rounded background in the tech industry. Many of you might know me from my time at Huntress, where I worked in support, scripting, documentation, and product development. Prior to that, I was with a MSP, focusing on field work, server/network maintenance, documentation, and internal automations (think "LabTech," where I basically lived in SQLyog 😆).

Having managed small teams with a large customer base (in both MSP and SaaS environments), I appreciate the value of effective documentation. My favorite part of this process is empowering users to self-service and resolve issues on their own terms. It’s rewarding to simplify complex problems so that anyone, regardless of experience, can find solutions easily on their own.

When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me enjoying life outside of technology (I think many fellow tech folks can relate! 😉). I also manage an Airbnb in New Orleans and another rental property, which keeps me busy. Outside of work work, I have a big yard where I care for 6 dogs, 6 chickens (I used to have 100+ but scaled back a couple of years ago), 2 geese, 1 goat, and a cat. Plus, I maintain saltwater fish tanks, though they require a lot of work, it’s incredibly satisfying to nurture them--and it's always fun to look at!

The MSP community is truly magical and the collaboration is impeccable. I’m eager to connect, share ideas, and keep learning with all of you!

Hello from Indian Country...

Just getting started with Hudu, so just starting...

Hello from Virginia

Hello Everyone! I am Robert, an AI and Guitar loving nerd. Any fellow AI nerds here? Looking forward to learning from the community and seeing what creative things people are doing with the product. AI. Documentation. Other nerds (sorry hope that doesn't offend anyone...but if I call myself one, that makes it okay, right?). Sign me up!

Been using for Hudu for about 2 years now and love it. New features all the time. Features I didn't even know I needed. Thank you for creating such a great product...way better than you know who.

Hello from Havertown, PA

Found Hudu 4 years ago, self hosted on AWS and never looked back.

4

Hello!

almost three years of using Hudu.

Biggest area of improvement I am looking for is documentation automation. we want scripts to update and correct asset fields from other systems. Attempting our first customer API integrations on our own and playing with rewst!

Hello from SCOUT IT in Tampa, Florida

Hey everyone,

We've been using Hudu for about 6 years now. Navigated from MonkeyBox to ITGlue and finally landed on using Hudu's Self Hosted solution in DigitalOcean. Haven't looked back since. It's been a great addition to our documentation and security posture. Kudos to the Hudu team for such an amazing product.

Small MSP in Central North Carolina USA

Hudu has been a great addition to our stack (self hosted) and I never thought I'd be excited about documentation.

We recently linked in n8n and see so much potential for automation/dynamic updates beyond the existing integrations.

MSP from Germany / Documentation eats conversation to breakfast

We started using Hudu less than a year ago. Our priority is integration of as many systems as possible via API or Magic Dash to give our employees and customers a single point of view. A static world is a stupid world! Together we can take documentation and processes to next level. KB helps us to empower customer employees to get onboard with using software.

Hey from Ottawa, Canada

I'm Dave from DigiVie Communications in our nation's capital. Hudu self-hosted for a couple years now, and previously used ITGlue and ITBoost. Hudu rocks.

Hello from Germany – How Our Small IT Team Leverages Hudu

We’d like to take a moment to introduce ourselves! We are a small but well-organized IT service provider based near Frankfurt, Germany. Our focus is on managed services for a select group of clients. Thanks to our structured workflows and processes, we operate almost entirely remotely, minimizing the need for on-site visits while maintaining a high level of service.

Our expertise covers everything from workstation and server management to cloud solutions, Microsoft 365, VoIP systems, and custom IT projects. A key part of our success is maintaining well-documented processes—and that’s where Hudu plays a crucial role.

Before Hudu, we used more static solutions like Bookstack, but Hudu’s flexibility and integrations—especially with NinjaRMM—have been a real game-changer for us. It allows us to keep track of our servers and workstations while also providing structured, reusable processes.

Of course, there’s always room for improvement. One area we’re still hoping to see enhancements in is global processes—specifically, the ability to clean up or modify them without losing any derived copies. We hope that the related feature requests are still active and being considered.

Overall, we’re very happy with Hudu and look forward to exchanging ideas and best practices with all of you!

Best regards

Hey all happy to be here!

Hello from snowy Northern California! We are about 45 minutes from the Oregon border on the I5, so I say the "real" Nor-Cal or the FAR Nor-Cal but either way it's cold here (9 this morning)..

I'm happy to be here and part of the group! I have some questions I'll formulate here shortly, but in the meantime, super happy. We've been "on" Hudu for about a year now, and it's been great, and we're not even scratching the surface I feel. We're undergoing a re-vamp of all things documents with the help of my young energetic team. I will probably bug you all with questions and such.

Thanks!

Sean Garland - founder, 30+ year technician, current company age 11 years.

Hey, Terry from Abilas IT based in North Manchester

Recently migrated from Si Portal but still finding my way around Hudu at the moment, thing am most struggling with is Naming Conventions for Passwords and Assets.

4

Hi All, Ian Davis from Assign-IT here, MSP in Hertfordshire, England.

Quite new to Hudu, still early in the implementation stages, implementing as part of a trio of new products we are bringing into the business - Halo, Hudu & Ninja.
Looking forward to learning from people in similar positions, and those of you with months and years or experience too!. Hopefully soon I'll be able to repay with being able to give back advice and things we've learnt too!
